The best advice for women going through the menopause transition
What’s your best piece of advice for women going through the menopause transition?
I often get asked this question and the answer may surprise you…..
If I told you there was a pill that would help alleviate many of your perimenopause symptoms as well as helping you live a longer, healthier, more functional and higher quality of life, would you take it?
What if this pill also helped to prevent many chronic diseases such as diabetes, dementia, cardiovascular disease, osteopenia, osteoporosis, sarcopenia and some cancers?
What if I told you it would help with mood swings, depression and anxiety?
What if it was accessible to most women and depending on your location and individual circumstances the cost ranges from free to whatever you are willing to pay for high quality?
It also has the ability to lower your blood pressure, your cholesterol levels, your blood sugar levels and gives you increased energy to complete your everyday tasks.
It reduces stress and will sometimes give you a wonderful rush of endorphins leaving you feeling happy for hours afterwards.
It will also increase your serotonin levels and help regulate your melatonin levels helping you have a good night’s sleep.
If you haven’t guessed already, that magic pill is exercise!
Perimenopause definitely zaps our energy, but that doesn’t mean we should give up on exercise.
It just means we need to work out how to train smarter, not necessarily harder.
For many of my clients this often looks like cutting back on long cardiovascular endurance workouts in favour of shorter workouts, weight training and stress reducing activities such as yoga and meditation.
If you have lost your exercise mojo during perimenopause, my free guide called “6 Simple Ways To Reignite Your Passion For Exercise” may help you find it again.
